Ricardo Ildefonso

A lifelong friendship built on shared memories, loyalty, and trusted advice.

Ricardo is one of those friends whose presence has been woven through many different chapters of my life. I have known him for more than two decades, going back to the years when we attended high school together in Anderson, South Carolina. As our high school years came to an end, life moved each of our families in different directions, his to Connecticut and mine to Massachusetts, but our friendship continued.

Years later, life brought us both to Orlando, where our friendship grew even closer. For a time, we even lived in the same apartment complex, which made it easy to share everyday life as well as special moments. That period is filled with memories of simple plans that became meaningful because of the company. We visited parks, rode roller coasters, went bowling, played mini golf, spent time at the beaches in Florida, and enjoyed nights out with friends.

Ricardo has always been someone who shows up. Whether there was a gathering, a group plan, or a special occasion, he was usually there, participating, connecting, and helping make those moments feel complete. He has been part of many of the memories I carry from Orlando, Greenville, and the years in between.

We also traveled together beyond the places where we lived. We took trips within the United States with other friends, explored new cities, and even traveled together throughout Peru, not only in Lima. One of the memories I value most is sharing time in Peru with Ricardo and his family, including a visit to a beach club. Those experiences gave our friendship another layer because they brought together travel, family, and the kind of shared memories that stay with you for a long time.

What I appreciate most about Ricardo is not only the history we share, but also the way I have been able to rely on his mind and judgment. Ricardo has always been very strong with numbers and financial thinking. When I was preparing to buy my first home, I consulted him often to help me think through the terms, the options, and the decisions in front of me. His feedback was valuable because he has a natural ability to look at numbers carefully and see things from a practical, informed perspective.

Over the years, I have continued to value his opinion, especially when it comes to financial decisions. He is someone whose advice I take seriously because he does not just give an answer. He helps you think through the details. That kind of perspective is rare, and it is one of the many reasons I respect him.

Ricardo is a close friend and a trusted voice in my life. We have shared years of travel, laughter, important decisions, and memories that go back to some of the earliest chapters of my life in the United States. I am grateful for the bond we have built over so many years and for the many moments that continue to connect our stories.
